Wi-Fi QR code generator: guests connect without typing the password

Enter the network name and password to get a QR code that iPhone and Android cameras recognise, so the guest connects instantly. Print a ready sign for your cafe, office or hotel.

The code

Enter the network name to see the code.

The Wi-Fi code is a standard supported by iPhone (iOS 11+) and Android (10+) cameras. On older devices use a QR reader app.

How the tool works

Enter the network name and password and choose the security type, and a QR code appears that iPhone and Android cameras recognise and turn into a Connect button. Download it as PNG or SVG, or press “Print the sign” to get an A4 sheet with a title, a large code, instructions and the network name and password, in Arabic, English or both.

How does a Wi-Fi QR code work?

The code carries the network details in a standard format: network name, security type and password. When a guest points their phone camera at it, the phone shows a “Connect” button straight away, so nobody has to type a long password and get it wrong. iPhone cameras (iOS 11 and later), Android 10 and later, and most Samsung devices support it.

Which security type should I choose?

  • WPA/WPA2/WPA3: the right choice for most modern routers.
  • WEP: old and weak, use it only if your device supports nothing else.
  • Open network: no password, not recommended for a work network.
  • If your network name is hidden, tick the hidden network option so phones can join it.

A ready-to-print sign

After entering your details, press “Print the sign” to get an A4 sheet with a title, a large code, scanning instructions and the network name and password for manual connection, in Arabic, English or both. Put it in a frame on the table or at reception. If you want to keep it rather than print, choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog.

Security tips

  • Anyone with a picture of the code can read the password, so use a separate guest network from your internal work network.
  • Change the password regularly and regenerate the code when you do.
  • Use a password of 12 characters or more: length matters more than complexity.
  • Do not post the code publicly online if the network is private.

Frequently asked questions

Is my password safe?

The code is generated in your browser and the password is never sent anywhere. But anyone with a picture of the code can read the password, so do not post it publicly if the network is private.

Which security type should I choose?

WPA/WPA2/WPA3 is the most common. Choose “Open network” only if your network has no password.

Does it work on every phone?

iPhone cameras (iOS 11 and later) and Android 10 and later recognise it directly. On older devices use a QR reader app.

What if the network is hidden?

Tick the hidden network option so phones can join it without it appearing in the list.

Do I need to update the code when I change the password?

Yes. The code contains the password itself, so regenerate it and print the new sign whenever you change it.
